Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

If you want to send us your printing data files and have questions about file formats, printing procedures and other things? Below we have summarized the most frequently asked questions about our printing services.

1. How do I submit my printing data to JIFFY PRINTING & GRAPHICS, INC.?

You can send us your data by e-mail at jiffyprinting@aol.com or on a CD, DVD or USB stick.

2. What data format should my files be saved in?

PDF or EPS format is fine. All type should be converted to curves or outlines. For color printing we recommend the formats JPG, PSD and TIFF. Save at 300 dpi at 100% size or EPS. PDF files are accepted also but must be saved in print quality.

3. What resolution do I need for poster prints?

With posters or other large items we recommend a resolution of no lower than 200 dpi.

4. Can I review my data on a PC before it is printed?

Most of our work is called pleasing color. It has the best pricing as we can combine your order with other customers orders and save you money on the cost of pressruns. On pleasing color runs we provide pdf proofs by email to be viewed on your computer. For customers who require specialized printing or color matching, we provide Kodak or Fuji proofs.

A bleed is when the printing goes all the way to the edge of a sheet of paper. Jobs that bleed must have 1/8" extra image on all sides that bleed to allow for variations in trim cuts.

What is the minimum margins I can have on a project?

For flyers and other items that do not bleed we require a minimuim of 3/8". For business cards we reqiure a minimum of 1/8 but prefer 3/16 minimum.
